Vacancies in PSEs due to deliberate delays?

New Delhi: NewsIP has exclusive information from reliable sources that in MoP&NG as many as approximately more than 37 positions which are currently vacant in various PSEs under it are likely to be filled up soon. Instructions to this effect are being prepared and would be issued shortly.
NewsIP readers will recall that it had brought up the issue of vacancies and its adverse impact on working of organizations in its report (link given below).

Indian CPSE Maharatna companies have been fined with penalties exceeding Rs 35 lakh.

NewsIP maintains that vacancies in Oil PSEs should be filled up within a reasonable time and DPE, PESB and DoPT should be allowed to do their role effectively. We do not see any use of keeping vacancies for long time. It gives rise to speculations that the wait is for a particular candidate to become eligible. It also leads to lowering of morale in eligible candidates who may even get time barred and thus in eligible.

As it is PESB had a penchant of not finding suitable candidates for higher positions despite the fact that capable executives working in high positions effectively do apply but are summarily rejected. Many do not want to be quoted but off record have said that the whole interview process appears to be schqued towards someone in particular.

NewsIP does not want to speculate but recent episodes of IAS selection which surfaced in media and resignation of UPSC Chairman is also a reality. In the meanwhile SEBI fines PSEs for non representation in their Boards of Independent Directors for whose selection they are not responsible .

After all what’s going on? For whose benefit these vacancies have been allowed to remain from when? Are those responsible so busy that they can’t carry out their basic duties? Someone should definitely be answerable. Indian citizens would also now want to know what action will the government initiate for dereliction of duty? Citizens of India deserve an answer since it’s the Tax Payers Money which is involved.

NewsIP had after deep reflection come to an obvious conclusion that Corruption starts with recruitment. Unless this menace is removed India and Indians will continue to suffer. We shall continue to track this issue and keep readers abreast of developments. Keep a lookout..*.Ended*
