NewsIP has been elucidating for a while on the anomalous way of PESB. Whether it is regarding the Selection of ONGC Chairman or Non Selection of IOCL Chairman. PESB is becoming more and more partisan and consequently irrelevant. It has become an appendage of the powers to be. The morale of PSU employees is at an all time low. We have in our possession communiqué of some Officers Association expressing dismay and widespread resentment of employees on matters relating to selection and appointment of vital Senior Executives positions. Recently, Madam Mohua Moitra, MP had also tweeted on the subject. We have been proposing that PESB should be disbanded and their work handed over to UPSC for greater transparency and effective selections for senior positions in PSUs which carry enormous power and responsibility. We have always maintained that the seeds of corruption in organizations are deliberately planted with faulty selection of top executives.
Now, the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi has directed PESB to declare the results for selection to the post of Director(Finance), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. Our esteemed readers would recall that one candidate was rejected in the preliminary scrutiny by PESB and this candidate had to knock at the doors of the High Court for getting amelioration. This is the state of which has come to pass in PESB. Anyway, the less said the better about the brazen ways being adopted. We have reproduced below the Office Memorandum for information of our esteemed readers who can draw their own conclusion in the messy affair.
