The country needs large hydropower projects to generate clean energy-U.S. Sahi (NHPC)

Faridabad: NHPC, the esteemed organization, orchestrated a grand awareness programme under the auspices of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and ‘LAHAR’ at the prestigious MurariLal Senior Secondary School in Faridabad on the ninth of August in the year of our Lord, 2023.

The esteemed Chief Guest, Shri U.S. Sahi, Executive Director (Corporate Communication), NHPC, graced the occasion with his presence, adding a touch of grandeur to the event. In his eloquent address to the students, the Chief Guest, Shri U.S. Sahi, Executive Director (Corporate Communication), NHPC, emphasized the dire need for large hydropower projects to generate clean energy, a crucial requirement for our beloved nation. He also enlightened the students about the myriad benefits of hydroelectricity, a topic of utmost importance in today’s world.

The event witnessed a riveting speech competition on the topic ‘The need for large hydroelectric projects for generating clean energy in India,’ which saw enthusiastic participation from the students of Murari Lal Senior Secondary School, Faridabad. The event also showcased video clips on the topic ‘Benefits from Large Hydroelectric Projects’ produced by NHPC, and a lecture on ‘Role of NHPC in Nation Building’ was delivered by the esteemed Shri Suraj Dhiman, General Manager (Mechanical), NHPC. The LAHAR (Large Hydro Active Reach Out) initiative, launched by the Ministry of Power, Government of India, aims to inform the public about the numerous benefits of hydro projects in the country, a noble cause indeed.

The winners of the speech competition, Kumari Monika, Kumari Nidhi, and Master Pushpendra Kumar, were felicitated by the Chief Guest, adding a touch of grandeur to the event. The event was a resounding success, leaving an indelible mark on the minds of the students and the attendees alike.
