The much-anticipated **Tehri Water Sports Cup 2024 – 3rd Edition** commenced on December 10 at the scenic Tehri Lake. Hon’ble Cabinet Minister for Women Empowerment, Sports, and Youth Welfare, Smt. Rekha Arya, inaugurated the event, commending THDCIL’s pivotal role in advancing sports and adventure tourism. She underlined the significance of such initiatives in fostering wellness, unity, and growth.
Eminent attendees included Hon’ble MLAs Sh. Vinod Kandari (Devprayag) and Sh. Vikram Singh Negi (Pratapnagar), who praised THDCIL’s transformative contributions to Uttarakhand’s development and sporting achievements. The event, organized in partnership with the Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association (IKCA) and the Uttarakhand Olympic Association, attracted over 500 participants from 22 states and services nationwide. Spanning four days, the tournament is a qualifying round for the **National Games 2024**, showcasing India’s top water sports talent.
