RECPDCL Hands Over Special Purpose Vehicle ‘Beawar Transmission Limited’ to M/s Sterlite Grid 27 Ltd
RECPDCL, a subsidiary of REC Limited, has handed over the project-specific SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) called ‘Beawar Transmission Limited’ to M/s Sterlite Grid 27 Limited on September 20, 2023. This SPV was formed for the construction of the Beawar Transmission Project, which is a part of the government’s ambitious 500 GW RE plan.
The selection of M/s Sterlite Grid 27 Limited was carried out through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) conducted by RECPDCL, following the Standard Bidding Documents and Guidelines notified by the Ministry of Power, Government of India.
The Beawar Transmission Project involves the implementation of a 765/400 kV sub-station at Beawar, along with a 765 kV double circuit and associated 400 kV line in the state of Rajasthan. The project is targeted to be completed within 18 months.
Once implemented, the Beawar Transmission Project will play a crucial role in the evacuation of renewable energy power from the Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) in the state of Rajasthan.
Handing Over Ceremony
The handover of the SPV was carried out by Shri V.K. Singh, Director (Projects) of RECL and Director of RECPDCL, to Shri Tatimakula Amarendranath Reddy, Executive Vice President of M/s Sterlite Grid 27. The ceremony took place in the presence of Shri Rajesh Kumar, CEO of RECPDCL, Shri Jasbir Singh, CGM of CTUIL, and other senior officials of RECPDCL and CTUIL.
