PFC CMD Parminder Chopra Flags Off Cancer Detection & Awareness Mobile Van to Empower Rural Health

New Delhi – Smt. Parminder Chopra, CMD of Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC), a Maharatna NBFC in the Indian power sector, inaugurated the launch of a Cancer Detection and Awareness Mobile Van under the company’s CSR initiative. The event, held at PFC, witnessed the presence of key dignitaries, including Shri Rajiv Ranjan Jha, Director (Projects), Shri Sandeep Kumar, Director (Finance), and Smt. Simmi Nakra, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO). This initiative underscores PFC’s commitment to health equity and its efforts to bridge healthcare gaps in underserved regions.
The mobile van, a collaboration with Lilavati Hospital Kolkata, is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools such as digital mammography, colposcopy, thermal ablation, and real-time PCR. Designed to deliver early cancer detection services, the van focuses on cervical and breast cancer screenings while also addressing other health concerns linked to tobacco use.
Targeting the Murshidabad district of West Bengal, known for its high cancer prevalence, this initiative aims to reach rural populations with limited access to healthcare. It integrates advanced technology to offer services such as digital X-rays and thermal imaging, significantly boosting awareness and prevention efforts.
