Oil India Limited Prioritizes Strategic Exploration and Renewable Energy

New Delhi: At the Urja Varta event in New Delhi, organized by the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH), Dr. Ranjit Rath, CMD of Oil India Limited, outlined the company’s focused approach to exploration and renewable energy.

“We are adopting a sequential approach to exploration in our Mahanadi basin, with drilling followed by seismic surveys and further drilling,” Dr. Rath explained. “This strategy will continue to shape our exploration landscape.”

Oil India Limited is also poised to explore new opportunities, including spotting hydrocarbon potential in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and conducting studies in Kerala. Additionally, the company has signed a collaborative agreement with the Assam government to boost renewable energy capacity from 188 MW to 250 MW.

Moreover, Oil India Limited is pushing for green hydrogen production, leveraging its subsidiary NRL’s captive refinery and consumption capabilities. This integrated approach solidifies the company’s commitment to a sustainable energy future.
