The Government of India has appointed Shri Sandeep Kumar as Director (Finance) of Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC), effective July 11, 2024. Shri Kumar has been serving as Executive Director (Finance) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at PFC since January 1, 2020.

Shri Sandeep Kumar brings a wealth of experience to his new role, with a career spanning over 34 years in the power and financial sectors. A Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, he has held various positions within PFC’s finance function, demonstrating his expertise in fund mobilization, cash management, and asset-liability management, among other areas.

Shri Kumar has been instrumental in managing PFC’s non-capex loan portfolio, executing government schemes, and advancing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. His leadership played a pivotal role in the successful rollout of the INR 1.12 trillion Liquidity Infusion Scheme (LIS) for the power distribution sector, a key initiative under the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat program.
