New Delhi, September 6, 2024: “Navratna status is not just recognition, but a testament to the commitment of every member of the NHPC family,” stated Shri R.K. Chaudhary, CMD, NHPC, as he addressed employees on the company’s prestigious achievement.

The Government of India conferred the Navratna status on NHPC on August 30, 2024, marking a significant milestone in the company’s nearly five-decade journey. The recognition reflects NHPC’s outstanding operational and financial performance, as well as its evolution into a leader in renewable energy.

NHPC’s dedication to innovation and operational excellence has been evident in its landmark achievements, including India’s first Concrete Face Rockfill Dam and the world’s longest inclined pressure shaft. The company is committed to continuous improvement, skill development, and total commitment to excellence.

As NHPC embarks on ambitious plans, including major hydroelectric projects and initiatives in pumped storage, solar energy, and green hydrogen, the Navratna status is a testament to its commitment to national renewable goals.
