Shimla : Sh. Nand Lal Sharma, the Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of SJVN, has been bestowed with an Honorary Doctorate by Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture & Forestry during its 12th Convocation ceremony. The distinguished event was presided over by the Hon’ble Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Sh. Shiv Pratap Shukla, and attended by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Sh. Sukhvinder Singh recognized Sh. Sharma’s outstanding contributions to the realms of power generation and administration. An alumnus of the university, Sh. Nand Lal Sharma’s academic journey began in 1985 with a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture. His educational background includes a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics from CSK HP Krishi Vishva-Vidyalaya, Palampur, and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. Having commenced his professional career in 1989 within the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Services, Sh. Sharma has held pivotal roles in various departments, demonstrating his leadership capabilities.
Sh. Nand Lal Sharma’s transformative leadership took center stage when he assumed the role of Chairman & Managing Director of SJVN in December 2017. Under his guidance, SJVN has evolved into a global leader in renewable energy, expanding its portfolio from 5200 MW to over 58000 MW. Sh. Sharma’s unwavering dedication is further evidenced by SJVN’s mission to achieve 12000 MW by 2026, a vision of 25000 MW by 2030, and a monumental 50000 MW installed capacity by 2040.
