IGL Inaugurates First Standalone Electric Vehicle Charging Station in Delhi-NCR

The first standalone Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Station of Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) was inaugurated at Lodhi Road in New Delhi, marking a significant step towards sustainable and eco-friendly transportation solutions in the Delhi-NCR region.
The event was graced by Mr. Kamal Kishore Chatiwal, Managing Director, IGL, and Mr. Pawan Kumar, Director (Commercial), IGL, along with other senior officials.

This state-of-the-art EV Charging Station is a model for future EV infrastructure projects and emphasizes IGL’s commitment to sustainability. It is equipped to cater to the charging needs of various electric vehicles, including 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, and 4-wheelers. The station offers both rapid DC charging with a capacity of 30 KW and AC charging capacity of 9.9 KW, providing flexibility and convenience to EV users.

With the ability to charge up to four vehicles simultaneously, the station can complete the charging process in 45 to 90 minutes, depending on the vehicle type. Its installed capacity is sufficient to charge 15 four-wheelers and 50 two/three-wheelers per day. To enhance user experience, IGL has also introduced a dedicated Mobile App that assists in locating and operating the chargers, as well as making payments through an automated gateway.

IGL’s ambitious plan to expand its EV charging network includes setting up 50 additional charging stations across Delhi-NCR within the current fiscal year. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and other government agencies have offered land parcels to IGL for developing more EV Charging Stations.

Mr. Kamal Kishore Chatiwal expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “The commencement of our first standalone EV Charging Station is a testament to IGL’s dedication to a sustainable and eco-friendly future. IGL is committed to providing world-class charging infrastructure to support the growing EV ecosystem in the region.” Mr. Pawan Kumar added, “This initiative aligns with our mission to reduce carbon emissions and promote electric mobility.”

Currently, IGL operates four EV chargers at its CNG Stations and plans to install 30 more chargers at other CNG stations. As IGL continues to lead the way in sustainable energy solutions, the company remains dedicated to driving positive change in the transportation sector.
