New Delhi: In a shocking revelation, four Executive Directors (EDs) and one Director of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) are said to be facing serious allegations! However, the company has maintained a deafening silence. Despite repeated attempts by NewsIP to seek a response from HPCL, there has been no comment from the CMD’s office or the Corporate Communications team.
Sources claim that the accused executives had appeared recently for the interview for the post of CMD, however no name was recommended by the PSEB and the position is now being sought to be filled through a search-cum-selection committee.
The Director (Finance) of HPCL, Rajneesh Narang, could potentially be given additional charge of the CMD’s post. This matter is likely under consideration by the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas,
The allegations of irregularities have sent shockwaves in the industry, and the silence from HPCL has only added to the intrigue.
Incidentally, there is a complaint dated 12.06.2024 ( Appended) which is quite serious in nature. It’s a matter of serious concern. It leads to the question being asked in the Energy Circles whether the complaint, per se, was the cause of non recommendation of names by PESB ? Further, would the Search Committee would also keep the complaint in mind and reject the candidature of persons named?
HPCL is a leading PSE energy company of India. Such serious allegations does not speak well about the company. Furthermore, remaining headless would also not do it any good. When India is faced with serious challenges on energy security front such matters should be dealt with a firm hand. A thorough investigation should be carried out expeditiously and if need be those involved should be suspended immediately lest they interfere in the fair investigations.
NewsIP will continue to track the matter. Watch out for a big revelation soon. Meanwhile, stay tuned for more updates!
