Haryana: Haryana Govt appoints Mr. Sharma, who led company value from Rs. 8,000 crore to Rs. 32,000 crore, as Chairman, In a significant development, the Haryana government has issued official orders appointing Shri Nand Lal Sharma, a stalwart known for his expertise and leadership at SJVN, as the Chairman of the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission (HERC) for a five-year term. According to the government’s directive, Shri Sharma’s tenure is slated for the next five years, and he is currently serving as the Managing Director at SJVN, with his extended term set to conclude in the early stages of the upcoming year.
Shri Sharma, holding a master’s degree in Business Administration from the International Center for Promotion of Public Enterprises, Ljubljana University, Slovenia (Europe), has been at the forefront of SJVN’s endeavors. In addition to his role as MD at SJVN, he shoulders responsibilities as the Chairman of three subsidiary companies: SJVN Arun-3 Power Development Company in Nepal, SJVN Thermal Private Limited in Bihar, and SJVN Green Energy Limited.
With over 34 years of experience in administration and the power sector, Shri Sharma has played a crucial role in expanding SJVN’s project portfolio from 5,200 megawatts in 2017 to the current impressive figure of 54,327 megawatts. His contributions extend beyond the realm of power generation, as he has brought diversity to SJVN’s involvement in electricity business and innovative energy projects.
In a statement provided to the NewsIP editor, Mr. Sharma conveyed that the market capitalization of SJVN has surged today, rising from Rs 8,000 crore to an impressive Rs 32,000 crore. More on NewsIP
