CEA visits Subansiri Lower Project Tunnel should be understood as preparation for commissioning ?

New Delhi: In the press release issued by NHC, it has been told that Member (Hydro), Central Electricity Authority, Government of India, Ministry of Power Shri M.A.K.P. Singh along with Chief Engineer (HPM), CEA Shri Manoj Tripathi visited NHPC’s 2000 MW Subansiri Lower HE Project (Assam/ Arunachal Pradesh) on 07.04.2023 to review the ongoing construction activities at different sites of the Project.
The Head of the Project facilitated the visit of these officials to all the sites of the Project. Representatives of contractors of major works were also briefed about the progress and construction schedule of all the balance activities on individual fronts.
It is believed that the purpose of such visits indicates the completion of the project. The way the CEA members have expressed their consent to the work done by the contractor in the tunnel, it is felt that soon This project will be commissioned, often the experience of tunnels built in India has been sweet and sour, like the tunnel built recently Pragati Maidan, which often has to face problems when it gets waterlogged in rains, hope It is expected that after visiting this project, the members of the committee would have formed their opinion on this project by drawing attention to all these points.
