“पहले सब राम भरोसे था” exclaimed one of the senior most members of the board members of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC)
while referring to the sea survival training, inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi during India Energy Week, that concluded last week.
The Ram Bharoshe comment astounded this journalist when he asked what is the new in this training programme, which has been otherwise imparted on the offshore going stuff members for over two decades and a half.

The comment made us initiate a detailed enquiry about the safety aspects of the oil company which claims to be numero uno in India. the startling revelation we have come across that suggests how casual the most important training programme had been reduced in the last one decade or so which saw more than a hundred deaths in the sea while working or ONGC.
