Goa:7 Feb.2024: Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has inked significant Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with technology partners during India Energy Week 2024 to establish 19 Compressed Biogas (CBG) plants.
These plants, spanning Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, are part of IGL’s commitment to sustainable energy practices.
The biogas produced will integrate seamlessly into IGL’s City Gas Distribution network. Witnessed by key figures including Mr. Praveen Mal Khanooja (IA &AS), Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, and Mr. K.K Chatiwal, Managing Director of IGL, this initiative targets a production of 0.45 MMSCMD, contributing around 5% of IGL’s daily needs.
This collaboration is poised to benefit municipal authorities, CGD entities, farmers, and the public, offering waste disposal solutions, affordable gas, and a cleaner environment.
