NHPC has contributed Rs. 2 Crore in Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Assam to combat the devastating flood in the state. Shri A.K. Singh, CMD, NHPC met Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on 7th July 2022 at Guwahati and presented the cheque in this regard. On this occasion, Shri Pradan Baruah, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Lakhimpur Lok Sabha constituency and Shri Manab Deka, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly, Lakhimpur Assembly constituency were also present.
On this occasion, the progress of construction of 2000 MW Subansiri Lower Project was also reviewed and the Hon’ble Chief Minister wished for its completion at the earliest. He said the state government will extent all possible support for commissioning of the project. Hon’ble Chief Minister and CMD, NHPC also discussed about development of hydroelectric and solar power in Assam including pump storage hydro plants and floating solar parks.
