SHIMLA: SJVN organised a Motivational Talk by Dr. Gaur Gopal Das for all employees at Corporate Head Quarters, Shimla. This talk, which is the initiative of the visionary Chairman & Managing Director of SJVN, Sh. Nand Lal Sharma is amongst a series of activities to motivate and energize SJVN employees for achieving higher efficiency. The objective of these series is to motivate the employees in the task of nation-building, by achieving the shared vision of making SJVN a 25000 MW company by 2040. The talk was live telecasted to all SJVN employees posted at different locations in India and Abroad viz. Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Nepal & Bhutan.
The Function was inaugurated by Chairman & Managing Director Sh. Nand Lal Sharma and Dr. Gaur Gopal Das in the presence of Director (Personnel) Smt. Geeta Kapur, Director (Civil) Sh. S.P. Bansal, Director (Finance), Sh. A.K. Singh and Director (Electrical), Sh. Sushil Sharma.
Motivational Speaker, & Life Trainer Dr. Gaur Gopal Das gave a motivational speech to enable SJVN employees to achieve their professional and individual objectives. In his inspirational talk Dr. Gaur emphasized that self-motivation, self-completion and maintaining work-life balance is central to achieving self-excellence. Dr. Gaur stated that professional, as well as personal life, is always full of challenges and for achieving the success we should concentrate on the variable factors of situations rather than on constant factors.
Addressing the august gathering, Sh. Nand Lal Sharma said that the current world is being driven by ideas, and only highly motivated and creative people will be able to survive this highly competitive environment. He recalled the growth story of SJVN from the 1990s having a portfolio of 1500 MW with some 3000 employees, which today has grown to almost 9000 MW with only 1500 employees. Sh. Nand Lal Sharma stated, in last two years SJVN has been allotted 8 projects in India & abroad. Today SJVn has 2016.15 MW projects in the generation and has 5 projects of around 3000 MW in the construction stage. He reiterated his belief in Team SJVN, which would achieve a shared vision of becoming 5000 MW by 2023, 12000 MW by 2030 and 25000 MW by 2040.
Sh. Sharma further stated that for achieving this gigantic dream and towering vision, all SJVN employees must be ready to face challenges. He exhorted all the employees to be prepared for postings at difficult locations and put in their best efforts to achieve the shared vision of SJVN. He further emphasized that the target of SJVN is to accelerate efforts in the right direction of achieving goals.
Sh. Nand Lal Sharma asserted that management of SJVN is committed to unleashing the potential of the employee to become better decision-makers and leaders. This would lead to individuals helping the company to be successful and mutual commitment would lead to exemplary team efforts and exceptional business performance.
Dr. Gaur Gopal Das has graduated from College of Engineering, Pune with a degree in Electrical Engineering, after which he worked as an Electrical Engineer at Hewlett Packard. He left Hewlett Packard and joined ISKCON. He is author of multiple books and has received an honorary doctorate by Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT).
