A distinguished Civil Engineering graduate from the Government College of Engineering, Tirunelveli (1988), Shri Balakumar brings a wealth of experience to the role. Starting his journey with EIL in 1991 at the Digboi Refinery Modernization Project in Assam, he has dedicated over 33 years to shaping some of the most prestigious projects across refineries, petrochemicals, power, and infrastructure.
Shri Balakumar’s expertise in managing greenfield and brownfield projects has earned him a reputation for ensuring timely and efficient execution. His portfolio includes transformative ventures in cutting-edge areas such as high-speed rail, data centers, and R&D complexes, positioning EIL at the forefront of modern infrastructure development.
In his tenure as Executive Director (Projects), he played a key role in steering EIL’s global footprint, particularly in the Middle East, managing mega projects that align with India’s ambitious development goals.
