Chanderi Ignites Heritage: Craft Tourism Unveiled Triumphantly

In a grand event, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav inaugurated India’s first “Craft Handloom Tourism Village” in Chanderi, emphasizing the city’s rich cultural heritage. Union Minister Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia pledged unwavering support to transform Chanderi into a prominent tourism center in Madhya Pradesh.

Bhoomi Pujan for 42 development projects worth over Rs 301 crore, spanning Chanderi, Mungawali, and Ashoknagar, marked a significant step towards holistic development. The initiatives aim to empower local weavers, fostering self-reliance and skill development.

An exhibition showcased traditional handloom products, highlighting Chanderi sarees, Maheshwari sarees, and other crafts. The government, led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, strives to preserve and promote India’s rich handloom and handicraft traditions.
